Home White Papers Passenger Services Cost-Benefit Analysis in Transport: A UK Perspective
This discussion paper was drafted by Peter Mackie at the Institute for Transport Studies in the UK. It was prepared for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and International Transport forum round table of 21-22 October 2010.
It covers economic appraisal of transport projects in the UK and the use of cost-benefit analysis, and its role in decision-making within the social, economic and legal framework.
The appraisal can be seen as an important part of the rules of engagement, within which, the interests of all the parties involved are considered and resolved.
