Тема: Automatic control system for crossing signaling MAPS

Automatic control system for crossing signaling MAPS

MAPS is intended for:
• control of areas approaching the crossing with any type of track blocking, both automatic and semi-automatic
• control of crossing signaling devices for any types of crossings located on stretches (single-track and multi-track)
• transmission of information about the operation of the crossing and all pre-emergency and emergency failures of the crossing alarm of the chipboard.

The automatic control system for crossing signaling (MAPS) is a functional analogue of the relay crossing signaling APS-93. MAPS is intended for the design of new and reconstruction of existing crossings of all types, the notification areas of which do not include station tracks.
The purpose of the development is to improve the safety of trains and vehicles at crossings, reduce the cost of maintenance, reduce capital investments in new construction, and replace technically and obsolete SZhAT devices.
The main functions of MAPS are control of automatic traffic light signaling with the ability to turn on white-lunar flashing lights at crossings not serviced by an employee on duty, control of automatic traffic light signaling with automatic or semi-automatic barriers at crossings served by an employee on duty.
Submission of notification for the crossing and control of the passage of the train through the crossing is carried out using elements of the electronic axle counting system ESSO by superimposing it on the existing code RCs, which eliminates refusals to submit notification of the approach of the train to the crossing when the insulating joints on the signal installations come off during code automatic blocking.
The ability of MAPS to reliably determine the direction of movement makes it possible to clearly establish, with a minimum number of floor devices, the direction of approach of the train to the crossing, as well as to open the crossing immediately after it is cleared by the train when it is moving both in the established and in an unidentified direction.
MAPS is designed taking into account traffic safety requirements, has safe information input/output circuits and sufficient noise immunity in the communication channel. Security is ensured by software and hardware based on self-diagnosis, information coding and the use of self-checking circuits.
To connect the MAPS with station equipment, a physical signaling line, a trunk communication line, a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) or a radio channel can be used. The length of a physical linear circuit without the use of channel-forming equipment can be up to 20 km for overhead and cable signaling lines or up to 30 km for trunk communication cables (MCC). When using channel-forming equipment, the maximum permissible distance between the crossing and the station will be determined by the characteristics of the channel used by this equipment (ISS, radio relay, fiber-optic line).
For connection with modern digital signaling systems, an RS232/485 interface is provided using the open ModBus protocol (Class 0).

MAPS composition:

a) floor devices for monitoring crossing notice areas:
• counting points of the Track Section Monitoring System using the axle counting method (ESSO), consisting of rail sensors with mounting kits and floor-mounted electronic modules;
b) moving part of MAPS consisting of:
• MAPS controller module;
• interface module with counting points (SP) of the ESSO system;
• MAPS software;
• linear transceiver for exchanging information with the chipboard;
• power supply circuits

The moving part is located in the relay cabinet of the automatic crossing alarm.
The objects of control and management of MAPS are all types of devices for switching on crossing alarms, control devices for all types of crossing barriers and barrier devices used at crossings. At the same time, MAPS implements the algorithm for managing and monitoring the APS, and the MAPS control and monitoring objects provide the functions of controlling the lights of crossing traffic lights, drives of barriers and barriers, as well as acoustic alarms.
MAPS belongs to the class of low-maintenance systems and requires verification using visual indication only upon initial switching on. It performs continuous self-testing, monitoring the health of input and output circuits and communication lines. Any malfunction of MAPS elements or malfunction puts it into a state of protective failure and closure of the crossing.

Economic efficiency of implementation:
• Reducing costs for capital construction, installation and maintenance of station devices, reducing relay consumption.
• The use of ESSO system counting points allows to reduce operating costs and losses from theft of copper-containing materials.
