Crossrail has praised the new UK transport secretary's decision to not cut funding for the £16bn ($23.6bn) east-west rail link project.
A Crossrail spokesman said the rail line had no fears of a budget cut and that the Conservatives have always supported the project.
"Crossrail remains one of the crown jewels of the transport strategy," a Crossrail spokesman said.
"We are obviously delighted that there has been this announcement and we fully support Philip Hammonds' appointment as Secretary of State for Transport."
The 73-mile rail line project began its £2.5bn ($3.7bn) construction work at key points around London last year.
The infrastructure project will carry 24 trains an hour during rush hour in 10,200m-long carriages, according to cityam.com.
There have been fears the project would receive reduced funding after the Conservative party campaigned on heavily slashing the UK's budget deficit.
