Rail operators are set for more bumper days of passengers as a fresh volcanic ash cloud moves across the UK from Iceland.
The travel network was set to return to normality after the cloud, which shut all airports in western Europe, dissipated, allowing aeroplanes to take off from airports in Scotland.
Since the airports closed last Thursday, trains have seen increased numbers of passengers as stranded travellers look for alternative modes of transport.
With airports in England still uncertain to open, these numbers may continue to rise in the coming days.
International operator Eurostar reported it dealt with 50,000 extra passengers last weekend.
Heathrow airport is to remain closed indefinitely while Gatwick and Manchester airports will not open until at least 1pm GMT today.
