TfL Awards Contract for Victoria Station Upgrade

14 June 2010

Vinci BAM Nuttall Limited has been awarded a contract to upgrade Victoria tube station in London, UK.

The £700m ($1bn) contract, ordered by Transport for London, aims to cut passenger congestion, improve access and manage future demands.

Work will begin next year and involves building a new ticket hall, entrances, the expansion of an existing ticket hall and step-free access on both tube and national rail platforms.

New lifts and escalators will be constructed, as well as a new passageway to the Victoria Line platform.

The project is expected to be completed by 2018.
