Fresh bids have been invited for the design of Kenya's second railway line, which is said to be the largest infrastructure project in the country.
The second bid has been floated after the first bid failed because the amount quoted exceeded the government's budget, according to nation.co.ke.
The contract is to build a new high-capacity standard gauge railway line between Mombasa and Malaba with a branch line to Kisumu.
In the first attempt, the bid was awarded to an Italian firm for KES1.2bn ($15m).
The fresh bid will close on Friday 25 June 2010.
