Six Indian rail projects will receive Rs10,500 crore ($2bn) in loan assistance from Japan, according to business-standard.com.
The Delhi mass rapid transport system project (DMRTS) is expected to receive Rs1,648.36 crore ($366m) from Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA).
Japan has committed almost ¥162.751bn ($1.7bn) to phase I of the DMRTS project and 55% of ¥388.670bn ($4bn) to phase II.
The Japanese Government has agreed to give ¥21.751bn ($234m) for phase I and ¥59.851bn ($645m) for phase II of the Chennai Metro Project.
The Chennai project will also receive Rs4,422.83 crore ($982m) from the ODA.
The ODA loan of ¥92.868 ($1bn) for the Dedicated Freight Corridor Project will constitute 19% of its appraised cost.
