SNCF Orders More Bombardier Trains

26 March 2010

Under a new €350m ($474m) deal Canadian firm Bombardier will supply a further 49 Régio2N regional double-deck trains to France.

Placed by French National Railways SNCF on behalf of the French regions, the order is part of a major deal signed in February for the supply of up to 860 Bombardier trains.

The new order means the number of train orders by the six regions totals 129 trains, to be delivered between June 2013 and mid-2016.

The Régio2N trains feature a modular concept to meet the regions' suburban and intercity services needs, wide-body cars, wide connectors and a Mitrac permanent magnet propulsion system, among others.
