PB Awarded Three More US Rail Projects

Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) has won three new contracts to manage high-speed and intercity passenger rail projects in three US states.

Balfour Beatty's US subsidiary, PB will be handling projects worth $4bn, part of the Federal Government's $8bn grants for 2010.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDoT) has selected PB as programme manager for its $1.1bn high-speed rail project from Chicago to St Louis.

Ohio's Department of Transport has selected a PB-led team to provide consultant services for the development of a new $400m 400km intercity passenger rail service on an existing rail freight corridor.

In Florida, PB will lead a consulting team to undertake construction of a 370km high-speed rail line between Orlando and Miami.

The firm is also already serving as programme manager for development of a new $2.25bn high-speed rail line in California.
