Aecom Awarded Hong Kong Upgrade Contract

01 March 2010

US firm AECOM Technology will provide design services for Hong Kong's Shatin to Central Link rail project linking new territories and its central business district.

The contract has been awarded by the Hong Kong MTR metro system's owner-operator MTR Corporation.

AECOM will design new interchange station Diamond Hill, a semi-underground train-stabling facility, the upgrade of an existing rail depot and a footbridge network under the deal.

Diamond Hill station will be on the rail link's East West Corridor, joining two already operational railways to form a 34-mile metro rail line, and is expected to accommodate nearly 47,000 people daily during the morning rush hour.
