GE Transportation and Sweden's EuroMaint Rail have formed an alliance to provide rolling stock and technical support to the European rail industry.
The collaboration will provide rolling stock maintenance, components service, spare parts and logistics to the rail industry.
The partnership will also provide service to GE's new European PowerHaul locomotive which, GE says, can cut fuel use by up to 9% compared to the existing operating fleet.
The first vehicle is scheduled for delivery to Freightliner Group in the UK later in 2009 as part of the 30 vehicles ordered.
