Leaders to Discuss Turkey-Georgia Railroad

20 November 2007

Leaders from Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan are gathering in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi this week to discuss the construction of a new railroad between Turkey and Georgia.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) project will connect Turkish and Georgian rail networks with an existing line in Azerbaijan, writes the TurkishPress.com.

The BTK network will become a transportation corridor from the Caspian Sea to China and Europe once it is connected to the Marmaray project, a rail tube tunnel system running under Istanbul.
