Italian and French High-Speed Trains to Go Wireless

18 June 2007

Intelligent wireless company Colubris Networks has joined forces with transport and energy infrastructure provider Alstom to provide wireless technology on major rail networks.

The first LAN installations will be on Italy's Pendolino trains, which includes the Trenitalia and Cisalpino railways, and France's high-speed TGV trains.

Alstom aims to spread the technology worldwide, offering a wide range of services, including passenger access to the internet and online information, networking of onboard systems, mobile access to ticketing and catering applications.
