Jewers Doors - Industrial Doors for Train and Tram Maintenance Depots, Workshops and Industrial Buildings

Jewers Doors manufactures a range of industrial doors for train and tram entrances to maintenance depots, and other vehicular openings to depots, wheel lathes, train washes, bogie drops, train assembly workshops and other industrial buildings.

Bi-folding, multi-leaf folding and sliding depot doors

Products include the Swift bi-folding door for single-road openings, Osprey multi-leaf sliding folding doors for wider apertures and Kingfisher straight sliding doors. Swift, Osprey and Kingfisher doors are from Jewers Doors' Phoenix product range.

Swift bi-folding depot doors

Swift bi-folding industrial doors are the perfect choice for train maintenance depot doors. Configured as side-hung, bi-folding doors (i.e. in four leaves with two leaves hung from, and folding to each side of the opening), Swift doors are designed to open and close safety around live overhead-line equipment.

Rail tracks are not affected by the operation of the doors, as leaves sweep across the tracks without the need for a bottom guide channel in the threshold.

Safe, horizontal bi-folding depot doors

Bi-folding horizontally, Swift doors provide full height visibility to the train driver at all times, reducing accidental impact damage, which is so common with vertically moving doors. Opening times are under 10s, regardless of width and height. Furthermore, Swift doors are fitted with pressure-sensitive and electro-sensitive safety equipment, with the option of interlinking the doors with the depot protection system to further protect rolling stock, doors and, more critically, personnel.

Manufactured from composite steel panels, Swift doors are available in a range of finishes and colours, and can be supplied with large or small areas of glazing, or wicket doors for personnel access. They are fully weather-sealed, and can be built to any size up to 4.5m wide by 7m high.

Purpose-designed drive systems for bi-folding industrial doors

Drive systems are purpose-designed for bi-folding industrial doors. Smaller Swift doors are fitted with electro-hydraulic operators, or can be manually operated, and doors for larger openings are fitted with heavier-duty electro-mechanical drive systems.

Swift doors are simple to design into new-build projects, or retro-fitted into existing buildings to replace tyred roller shutters or sectional overhead doors.

Multi-leaf sliding folding depot doors

Osprey multi-leaf sliding folding doors are the ideal industrial door solution for larger openings to train assembly areas plants, workshops, loading areas, etc. Designed for doorways between 4m to 20m wide, the opportunities are endless.

Osprey doors can be either manually or electrically operated, stacking at the side of the opening to give full height and width passage for the largest of rail and road vehicles. In the closed position doors provide security. Excellent insulation and weather-sealing properties offer tangible energy-saving benefits.
