RPC INFOTRANS - Computer-Aided Diagnostic Testing and Measurement Systems for the Railway Industry

In 2010 the Research and Production Center of Informational and Transport systems (RPC INFOTRANS) celebrated 20 years of business. Today, RPC INFOTRANS develops and delivers modern scientific and technical production solutions, which are applied in various industry sectors including transport, mechanical engineering and IT technologies.

Our main focus is the transport sector, for which we use advanced information and hardware technologies to develop diagnostic tools for the technical condition of a railway transportation objects.

Railway measuring and testing systems

Our development laboratories and production base allow us to conduct developments in short terms and to realize them in real devices. We also have a training system for our maintenance personnel, as well as a technical support system. The combination of high consumer quality and the reliability and stability in operation of our products has allowed to RPC INFOTRANS to realize orders not only for JSC "Russian railways", but also to enter to the international market. Nowadays there are about 100 computerized track measuring test cars (KVL-P) in operation on Russian and CIS railways.

The experience and qualifications of our employees helps to provide a high level of production. RPC INFOTRANS employs over a 400 employees. Six persons have doctor’s degrees and 18 persons are candidates of science, including 2 academicians and 5 corresponding members of various academies, laureates of Science and Technology.

Railway infrastructure measuring systems

Our unique automated diagnostic systems for monitoring the condition of a railway infrastructure (ADK-I “ERA”) was developed and put into operation by the company specialists in 2010. ADK-I "ERA" solves a problem caused by the increase of train movements, escalating of transportation volumes and minimization of costs for the infrastructure maintenance.

The "ERA" diagnostic system measures and estimates over 120 parameters of technical objects on an infrastructure. Along with the traditional parameters which are subject to the operative control, essentially new systems of diagnostics are realized on a complex. The parameters control of a cross section of rails (a canting, a roll surface inclination, wears), a geo-radiolocation of a road level, measurement of dimensions of bridges, tunnels, outlines of a road level, a video observation - it is not the full list of new systems from this complex. The diagnostic complex is capable of carrying out functions of certification and control of the infrastructure’s technical objects simultaneously. Thus the uniform synchronized information database with monitoring results and prior data about each object is formed onboard.

Track measuring cars

RPC INFOTRANS also pays attention to the light measuring devices. Manual track measuring device (RPI) is developed and introduced in operation. This compact device can realize measurement and estimation of all parameters which are supervised by the traditional KVL-P track measuring cars. The difference between KVL-P and RPI is that one of them measures a railroad track condition under loading, and the other one does so without loading. For this reason, it identifies the weak spots of a track’s superficial structure.

RPI is also used for troubleshooting faults that have been found out by the track measuring car, can be used to eliminate faults for quality assurance purposes.

A considerable amount of our resources are put in research works, in modernization of products. The company pays attention to the creation of management system which would correspond to the world standards. The quality system ISO 9001-2000 is introduced and certificated at the enterprise. It indicates about desire of the collective to guarantee production quality at the level of the European countries.

All these factors define the reputation of RPC INFOTRANS as the responsible business partner, which putting on the market the qualitative technics and focused on real problems of the consumer.
