Founded in 1969, the Cembre Group is based in Brescia, Italy. Recognised as an international force, Cembre has subsidiaries in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Spain and Norway, with design and manufacturing centres in Italy and the UK. General Marking Srl, the latest member of the group, is located in Bergamo, Italy. Since 1990 Cembre's production system has been certified by Lloyds Register of Quality. CEMBRE CONNECTION SYSTEMS AND RAILWAY TOOLSCembre designs, produces and distributes electrical connectors and associated tooling, terminal blocks, cable glands and industrial marking systems. The market leader in Italy, and with a significant market share in Europe, Cembre is one of major producers of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic connector installation and cable cutting tools worldwide. Cembre connection systems and tooling for railway applications are in use by principal contractors, OEMs and operating companies throughout the world. RAIL DRILLS AND WOODEN SLEEPER DRILLSCembre Rail drills are specifically designed to provide consistent and accurate results in all applications and weather conditions. Driven by two or four-stroke engines, single phase or battery powered motors and with a drilling range of between 7mm and 38mm in diameter, their compact size can considerably reduce operating time by avoiding the need to remove ballast. Cembre wooden sleeper drills provide optimum safety when used either independently or in conjunction with the optional support trolley. IMPACT WRENCHESDeveloped for one-man operation the impact wrench offers a drilling range up to 25mm in diameter. The new generation Cembre impact wrench is characterised by an innovative, patented design. With a 1in² drive, torque up to 1,800Nm and an ergonomic structure, the impact wrench optimises operator effort and comfort for both vertical and horizontal applications. PANDROL E-CLIP AND FAST-CLIP MACHINESThe latest modular design allows owners of Cembre Pandrol machines to use the same pump unit on both the E-clip and fast-clip clamp units, providing investment and operating cost benefits. Ideal for maintenance operations, Cembre machines are particularly suitable for rail adjustment work, work on in-progress sections or for track renewal. Clip insertion / extraction can take place on one or both sides of the rail and the machine is suitably insulated to avoid interference with track circuits. RAIL WEB ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONSSince 1988 Cembre has been developing and producing permanent electrical connection systems for return traction, earthing and signalling applications. Users recognise the significant improvements achieved in the most important characteristics of the contact between rail and conductor including:
PROFILED CONTACT WIRE JOINTSNew and worn profiled contact wires can be easily connected without any tapering operation through the use of the patented Cembre joint, ensuring a uniform and continuous sliding surface for the pantograph. MATCHED SYSTEM OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS AND TOOLINGThe growing demands of product compliance and installer liability are best met by the specification of identifiable, traceable products designed to work together to assure repeatable, high-integrity electrical terminations over a long life. To this end Cembre continues to develop electrical connectors for low, medium and high voltage applications using copper, aluminium and ACSR conductors, insulated or uninsulated, from 0.25mm² to 1,200mm². As the global leader in connector crimping and conductor cutting tools, Cembre has an enviable reputation for its manual, hydraulic and battery powered hand tools and electro-hydraulic pump driven press-heads. ASSOCIATED PRODUCTSCembre also produces terminal blocks for equipotential bonding or distribution wiring, cable glands (plastic and metallic in a variety of threads, sizes and formats) and cable marking products (manual installation or pc based printing systems).
