Track inductor magnets

Our track inductor magnets are specifically used in the rail industry for signalling systems. Track inductors are fitted on the railway sleepers between the lines for automatic signalling. Permanent magnet track inductors are used in conjunction with electro-magnets.

Rail resistors

We make any resistor that you may need for a rail application: resistors for magnet control boxes, soft-start resistors or resistors that are made to order to suit your specific application.

Rail DC electric motors

Battery-operated magnet for railway jewellery

The BAT-MAG is a 12V/24V fully self-contained and remote battery-operated magnet for lifting or removing railway jewellery (e.g. dog spikes, fish plates, studs, etc.) Sizes range from 18in up to 44in.

Rail 24V, 25A alternators

Metcalfe Rail Engineering manufactures 24V, 25A alternators designed to replace older-style generators (e.g. for heritage or vintage trains, or brushless generators).
