Railway communications system

With Malux’s innovative spirit, we have developed the new TrainTalk™ communications systems for use in the rail industry. TrainTalk is a cost-saving solution that is easy and flexible to install, and most importantly, reliable to use.

TrainTalk sets a new standard for cost-efficient and reliable railway communication. As a global system for mobile communications and with a 2W system, instead of 8W, the GSM-R offers quick and flexible installation for engines and other vehicles throughout the railway industry.

TrainTalk, designed by Malux Finland, includes versatile kits for panel installation, handsets, loudspeakers, microphones, push-to-talk (PTT) sets and much more.

A wide range of equipment combined with fast and cost-efficient implementation ensures flexible communication for all vehicles in the railway industry. The system is designed in accordance with the EN 50121-3-2 (2006) and EN 50121-4 (2006) standards.

Compact railway communication units for GSM-R phones

TrainTalk Compact is a compact version of TrainTalk. Every communication component, including the speaker, volume control, external PTT button and microphone, is integrated into the TrainTalk panel. This compact unit can be fitted in an enclosure or on the dashboard through the use of installation brackets. Bespoke brackets are also available on request.

If the TrainTalk unit does not fit in its original state, components such as phone/cradle, volume control, PTT-button and handset, can be installed separately as free-standing units, making the installation of a TrainTalk unit very flexible.

TrainTalk Rack is designed for slot installation in a dashboard, where normally an 8W control unit is used. The option of inserting a 2W TrainTalk system directly in a slot on the dashboard makes installation very straightforward and inexpensive.

Railway communication system for GSM-R phones

TrainTalk has been designed primarily for Sagem TiGR 350/550R GSM-R phones, however it can also be modified for other GSM-R phones. Other cradles are available on demand.
