Train inter-carriage connectors

Meeting all major railway specifications, LPA connector systems are designed to be as flexible as possible to ensure they meet the changing requirements of train builders. An ability to accommodate both composite and single-core cables as well as a full range of power and data contacts ensures that whatever your requirements there is a product to suit.

Casework material for these train and rail connectors is aluminium alloy or nickel-plated copper alloy that meets international and local specifications, including BS1490. The casework finish is etch-primed and low smoke and toxicity polyester powder-coated in accordance with international, local and customer specifications, including BS 6853 and NFF 16-101.

The insert material is a low smoke and toxicity polyester moulding compound in accordance with BS6853 and NFF16-101. Contacts are of brass or copper, either plated or in a natural finish to suit the application.

Low smoke and toxicity rubber, seals and gaskets meet BS6853 and NFF16-101 standards.

Lug and compression rail connectors

We provide tubular lug and compression connectors for rail applications, available in copper, nickel or stainless steel. DIN standard types are available in aluminium, tin, copper or Al/Cu blend.

Solderless terminals, clamp and screw connectors, cable end-sleeves, and insulated and non-insulated cable connections are also among our range of lug and compression connectors and accessories.

Heat, acid and rust-resistant lug and compression rail connectors

Features of our lug and compression rail connectors include:

• Heat resistance to 650°C (nickel tubular cable lugs and connectors,
• Heat resistance to 400°C, acid resistance and rust resistance (stainless-steel tubular cable lugs and connectors)

Cable and stud-mount compression rail connectors

We provide single or twin cable and single or twin stud-mount compression rail connectors, with standard cable sizes from 6mm² to 1,000mm² (and custom sizes available) and a power bar for multiple cable connections.

• Use spanner to terminate, meaning no specialist crimping tools are needed

Tunnel, train and depot industrial plugs and sockets

We provide industrial plugs and sockets for applications including rail tunnels, trains and depots. These 50V, 250V and 500V IP66 metal-clad plugs, sockets and appliance inlets have current ratings up to 250A.

Features include:

• Unique pin configurations of up to 11 poles plus earth
• Flanged sockets and appliance inlets that fit conduit boxes
• Manufactured in electro-less tin or nickel-plated brass
