Snap-on Industrial - Hand Tools, Power Tools, Tool Storage Systems, Mobile Tool Stores and Workshops

Snap-on Industrial designs, manufactures and supplies a wide range of tools and equipment to manufacture, maintain and repair railway tracks, signaling and rolling stock.

Our hand and power tools, torque wrenches, inspection tools, diagnostic instruments, storage systems, workshop equipment, mobile tool stores and workshop containers, all deliver exceptional reliability and value.

We also offer advanced productivity programmes such as our Level 5 tool control and security system and our TC Max asset management software which gives you total control of tools, consumables, plant and equipment.

Products and programmes

Cotter key tools: the tapered jaws reach in to remove the self spreader in most cotter keys. The pry bar end can be used to lever out cotter keys, gaskets, etc.

Ratcheting open-end wrenches: the jaw design enables a ratcheting action, which is ideal in situations where a socket cannot be used.

Diesel locomotive tools: wrenches, sockets and custom-made tools for servicing and repairing freightliner and other heavy diesels.

Track and signal maintenance kits: containing a selection of wrenches used in maintaining points and signal equipment, our kits are available in both insulated and non-insulated versions.

Insulated tools: we offer a comprehensive range of insulated tools and composite non-conductive tools, which are extremely strong yet very lightweight.

Special tools: produced for many rail contractors, including Siemens, Bombardier, Metronet, Alstom, Jarvis, Balfour Beatty and nearly all rail operating companies.

Tool safety systems

Our Tools@Height safety system stops dropped tools harming personnel, causing damage or disrupting work. The system provides controlled storage of tools, secure transportation of tools to the worksite and reliable retention of tools during use.

High-level uses include working on railway gantries, wind turbines, cranes, buildings, bridges, masts, power lines, drilling derricks, etc.

Low-level uses include stopping tools falling into machinery, production lines, water filter beds, fuel rod cooling ponds, mine shafts, etc.

Excellence in Education training programmes

For over 80 years Snap-on has been the choice of the professional tool user, and is today the brand of choice for aspiring aerospace technicians and engineers.

Our Excellence in Education programmes are designed to fully support students, colleges and training establishments. For example, we have a highly successful relationship with Gateway Technical College in the USA while, in the UK, we work closely with Birmingham City, Bridgewater, Motherwell, North Herts and other education organisations.
