Station platform passenger information systems

Modern passenger information systems are equipped with static and dynamic elements. High resolution monitors in combination with backlit paper schedules allow all passengers access to the necessary information within a terminal and on the platform.

Passenger information centre

The Vitrum® passenger information centre is based on a clear and basic architectural design with a full-glass front that gives full focus on the information displayed. The multi-point locking system allows an even closing pressure all around the front. Its customers can specify their individual key system and its dustproof system keeps the schedules clean.

The paper information is easily positioned within a poster holder and is displayed directly behind the glass front which allows a much better readability, especially for handicapped passengers. This innovative system can be applied worldwide.

LED backlights for customer information systems

With its LED backlights customer information is homogeneously illuminated with an energy consumption of only 35% of traditional fluorescent light. The LED light sheet also carries the schedule image and can be utilised for advertisements.

The schedule information is displayed with circa 1,000lx. For advertisements ST-Vitrinen can supply up to 3,600lx.

Illuminated advertising posters

City Light Poster (CLP) advertisement campaigns are organized on a regional or country-wide basis. The CLP, which is 1,185mm x 1,750mm in size, is illuminated through a light-diffusion sheet that also carries the image. The CLP light box can also be equipped with LED backlights, allowing an ultra-flat (50mm) design.

As an additional option the CLP is available with a scrolling device. It can handle three to six posters that are displayed in sequence and allow a much higher efficiency of advertising messages per installed unit.

Outdoor housings for LED and LCD systems

ST-Vitrinen is a specialist for outdoor housings that contain dynamic displays using LED and LCD technology. With a modular system of over 200 different aluminium extrusions, ST-Vitrinen is able to design solutions according to customer specifications by utilising proven combinations from various projects undertaken over the past 30 years.

Either ultra-flat or with an angle, its housings allow perfect readability. To eliminate external light distractions a special coating of safety glass has been developed and is integrated into the housing, with a full-glass Vitrum-design front.

Station clocks

ST-Clock systems can display a wide variety of information. Summertime and wintertime alterations are automatically downloaded from the DCF 77 signal. As an alternative, a GPS satellite signal can also be installed.

Station layout system

Over the years the image of train stations has been fundamentally improved. Based on a solid architecture, passengers find their way around without any stress and easily find necessary information. A well-structured, economical and well-designed basis for station layout is the System Raster 22, which ST-Vitrinen Trautmann designed for Deutsche Bahn.
