Freudenberg Schwab is a renowned supplier and service provider of vibration control systems and components for all well-known companies in the rail vehicle construction and maintenance sector and their sub-suppliers. The company was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between the Freudenberg Group and Schwab Holding, and has a combination of long-standing experience, production and development expertise. Our vibration control systems and components for rail vehicles:
Primary suspension and guidance systemsPrimary suspension and guidance systems cushion vibrations, thus functioning as stabilizers for the vehicle concerned and improving passengers' comfort. For implementing these two functions to optimum effect, we offer you solutions with functional separation or an integrated solution. Such systems include conical primary springs, cone springs, spring shims, radial arms, radial arm bushes and laminated springs. Our primary suspension and guidance systems include various tailor-made rubber-to-metal components. Our experts create the ideal combination of vertical and lateral rigidity to ensure maximized accuracy. Our products can be customized to clients' requirements. One of our specialties is adjusting for a predominantly linear or predominantly progressive rigidity of the springs. Our rubber-metal parts enjoy a reputation for 100% production quality - not least thanks to Freudenberg's leading position worldwide in the field of elastomers. Benefits to the customer are maximized quality and low lifecycle costs. Secondary suspension and guidance systemsBy using elastomers to connect the car body to the bogie, the functions of suspension and guidance are coupled to each other in the secondary stage as well as the first. Secondary suspension can thus perform its second principal function in addition to stabilizing the car body, ensuring optimized traveling comfort using mutually matched springs. Whether it's for keeping the car body stable in bends, or during startup and deceleration, Freudenberg Schwab creates secondary suspension and guidance systems - such as auxiliary springs, centre pivot bushes, traction rods, spring shims, longitudinal and lateral links, and buffers - that are able to reliably transmit large forces and enhance comfort levels, thanks to soft characteristics. Elastic components for secondary suspension stage bogiesWe provide almost all the elastic components necessary for secondary suspension stage bogies, from tram to high-speed trains' bogies. Elastomer components for elastic couplingsPartially or fully spring-mounted drives need an elastic coupling. Freudenberg Schwab provides you with a great variety of elastomer components - including spherical bearings, bushings, wedge shaped layer springs, torque supports, transmission and engine mounts - for all coupling models. These smooth out the relative movements between the transmission and the wheel set, and reliably transmit the drive and braking torques. Thanks to extensive experience and a lifetime computation program specially developed in-house, we are able to predict exactly how long your coupling will last under known duty conditions. In order to extend the coupling's lifetime, we additionally formulate proposals for optimum adjustment of the vehicles concerned. As a customer of Freudenberg Schwab, for every job profile you can either opt for field-proven standard parts or have your own specific variant developed. Elastic components for railcar body linksThe final stage between rail and railcar is the connection and force transmission between bogie and superstructure. Elastic components, such as anti-roll bars, longitudinal rods and inter-articulation between passenger cars, are responsible for safe and comfortable running conditions and help to isolate passengers from any vibration, noise or discomfort. Freudenberg Schwab are able to supply any elastomeric component or assembly required in this application Stops, buffers and mountsStops, buffers and a great variety of mounts complete our product range, and will help you to choose Freudenberg Schwab as your partner in vibration control.
