Commuter and intercity diesel-electric locomotives

Vossloh designs and manufactures high-performance diesel-electric locomotives for commuter and intercity services. Among the proven vehicles we provide are diesel engines designed by Electro-Motive. These state-of-the-art locomotives are specifically designed and developed to set new standards for local and mainline rail services.

Standard and custom diesel-hydraulic locomotives

Vossloh produces diesel-hydraulic rail vehicles that regularly set standards in their respective fields. Vossloh satisfies the challenging demands of state, private and industrial railways, with customer-driven solutions ranging from standard to one-off locomotives.

Design and construction of light rail vehicles

We provide a range of light-rail vehicles, including train-trams, metro vehicles and tramways. .

Overground and underground train-trams

Vossloh has designed the first train-tram in Spain, a new type of public transport vehicle that is cleaner, faster and more efficient. This light, articulated vehicle functions as a suburban train in the metropolitan area and a tram inside the city, and can travel both above ground and underground.

Computerised-control metro vehicles

Our metro trains have been given substantially improved benefits over the past few years. The new series has computerised control and new traction equipment, with IGBT semiconductors and integrated forced and self-ventilation also included.

Bogies and wheel trucks for hydraulic or electric power transmission

Vossloh designs, develops and manufactures bogies and wheel trucks for hydraulic or electric power transmission. These come in two or three-axle configurations and are suitable for various speeds and a variety of axle loads. They include disc and block brake systems.

Vossloh Rail Vehicles has more than 80 researchers, engineers and technicians who have at their disposal the most advanced computer equipment, which covers all aspects of rail vehicle computer-assisted design, engineering and manufacturing, calculation programs based on the finite elements method, dynamic simulation, software for testing, vibrations and noise.
