Based in Belgium, Marcy International provide a wide range of locomotive wagons, engines, wheels and accessories to the European market. Marcy International manufacture locomotives of various types, as well as offering locomotive maintenance and overhaul, refurbishment and conversion, and track maintenance equipment. Locomotives provided to the industry for sale and hire include shunters and freight engines. Marcy International engines and wagons offer admirable features. E55 FREIGHT AND SHUNTER MODELSUnilok Benelux (UB) presented the E55 shunter at Innotrans, the international transportation exhibition, in 2006. The E55 freight and shunter models reach a speed of 26km/h (high range) or 14km/h (low range). They can be manufactured for all commonly used coupling systems (UIC Alliance, Auto, Willison, USSR, SAB, ABC) and UB's 55-S can be built to any rail gauge. With a maximum tractive effort of 12,500kg on straight and dry tracks, our wagons have the capability of pulling over 1,200t of car weight. Our wagons have a Deutz type BF6M2012, four-stroke engine, with six cylinders, tailored to hold 7.5L of water-cooled diesel. They have a maximum power of 190hp / 140kW at 2,500rpm. This exceeds EPA and EU emissions limits. Another standard feature of UB's 55-S is the capacity to be hydraulically lifted and mechanically rotated 360º, allowing the machine to mount or dismount the rails in confined spaces. A convenient remote allows the user to move, brake or position wagons with precision accuracy, from 1ft to 2,400ft away, with only a finger. The high visibility cab has a full width ergonomically designed, sound-suppressed enclosed cabin with a driver's position and a passenger seat. Optional equipment is available, and machines can be individually designed and built to meet the user's unique requirements. HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE SYSTEMOur engines have a transmission and drive system in the form of a fully hydrostatic drive with automatic transmission. Each rail wheel is driven by an individual hydrostatic motor, with two drive pumps to feed the separate road and rail circuits. Variable displacement with flow is proportional to the engine speed. The engines have a forward/reverse torque ratio of 2.54:1 and a continuous output torque of 6,000Nm, with 12,000Nm instantaneous. Additionally, they boast a superior no-spin slip deferential for traction. The Marcy International mobile rail car mover brake system includes dynamic hydrostatic braking. Decelerating the machine reduces the oil flow through the drive system and automatically brakes the machine. A separate parking brake is activated by releasing the dead-man switch, putting the machine into neutral or by remote control. Our vacuum air brake system, fed by a 600L/min air compressor, is designed to act on the wagons' independent braking system, allowing efficient braking for any likely shunting weight. RAIL AND ROAD WHEEL ARRANGEMENTOur 760mm steel flanged rail wheels with polyurethane tyres, provide almost three times the traction of normal steel wheels. All wheels are flanged to better navigate turns and prevent derailment. All road wheels are retracted hydraulically for rail duty. The road tyres are completely independent of the rail guidance system and are never used on rail.
