Railway engineering specialists

Gemco Rail's engineering team has more than 60 years of proven railway engineering skills to produce effective, efficient, practical and ‘fit for purpose’ solutions for all of our engineering challenges.

Using the SolidWORKS 3D modelling and FEA package, Gemco Rail quickly creates and verifies designs to customers’ standards and requirements, incorporating planning, management and total control of projects. The best solution is found by open communication with customers, clientele and staff.

Some projects include stand-alone, one-off builds, field-proven track maintenance machines, through to production line wagon builds. Our qualified workshop staff manufactures the build within our four large railway workshops.

With two purpose-built on-site abrasive blasting and spray painting facilities, all manufactured equipment and machinery is painted on-site.

Rail infrastructure maintenance, modifications, retrofits and upgrades

Projects include custom bottom discharge doors, constant contact side bearer conversion, rail gauge conversion and general upgrade / overhaul of wagons.
