Series WRC30 for Mobile Use

20 June 2005

The DC/DC converters of the series WRC30 are designed as power supplies for mobile use particularly for railway applications acc. to EN 50 155, LES-DB-BN 41 1002 and IEC 571-1 and have an output power of 30W. Their reliability is very important because they are used in safety relevant systems, e.g. for supplying controls in drives of locomotives and railcars.

The battery voltages 24V and 36V +40%/-45% are covered with the input voltage range of 12.5V to 50.4V. The devices have a high efficiency of >77% and are available with single output voltages of 12V, 15V and 24V. The converters have an extreme high reliability MTBF >1 million hours (TA = +40°C) and an isolation of 2.1kVDC (prim.-sec.). The ambient temperature range is –40° to +70°C (+85°C for 10mins).

Other important features are resistance against vibrations, reverse polarity protection and input and output voltage monitoring. The power supplies with H15 connector can be used in 19in racks and have the dimensions of L 76mm x W 20mm x H 128mm (4 TE). They need no ground load, are short circuit protected and have extensive monitoring and protection systems.

Besides these 30W types, MTM Power also offers the converter series WRC with an output power of 60W, 100W and 150W.
