MTM Power's high-quality product range covers AC/DC modules (4.5W to 100W), DIN rail power supplies (15W to 240W), DC/DC converters (1.5W to 400W), 19in power supplies, transformers, chokes and customised power supplies. Series URC: DC/DC converters for automotive applicationsThe new DC/DC converters - series URC - are designed for automotive applications. Due to the ultra-wide input range (4VDC to 154VDC), the 50W or 75W converters can be operated at all standard battery voltages (24VDC / 36VDC / 48VDC / 60VDC / 72VDC / 110VDC В±40%) both in railway vehicles according to EN 50155 and in stationary applications. There are eight different versions with single, dual or triple outputs available. The converters can be used for 19in rack or wall mounting with an H15 connector, and switched on and off via the enable input. Further features are input and output voltage monitoring, high temperature range, high reliability and long life. The WRC DC/DC converter series is similar, with 30W, 60W, 100W and 150W output powers. Primary switched DC/DC convertersMTM Power's new PCMDS80 and PCMDS150 primary switched DC/DC converters are specially designed for vehicle applications and operate according to the forward principle, i.e. the DC input voltage is chopped by a transistor with a frequency of 50kHz (PCMDS80) and 70kHz (PCMDS150). With the help of a transformer and a secondary linear choke, a galvanically isolated output voltage is produced which is adjusted by pulse-width modulation according to the current mode principle. The converters need no ground load and are short-circuit protected by primary and secondary power limiting. The converters are maintenance-free, vacuum potted, prepared for the use in devices with Protection Class II and fulfil the low voltage directive. They show a mechanically and electrically rugged design using SMD technology and undergo an automatic piece-by-piece test. Cooling is achieved by free convection. The converters without heat sink have to be mounted on a heat-dissipating surface. Series SMM: mobile and stationary convertersSeries SMM has an output power of 50W. They are suitable for stationary as well as mobile use according to EN 50155 and have four input voltage ranges. Therefore, the converters can be used in all on-board power systems. The output voltages are galvanically separated and are available in single, dual and triple versions. Further features are vibration and shock resistance, high efficiency of 79% to 89% and reverse polarity protection at the input. SMM needs no ground load, is short-circuit protected and has various monitoring and protection systems. Series PCMD: primary switched DC/DC convertersMTM Power's primary switched DC/DC converters with 250W and 400W output power are specially designed for automotive applications. They operate according to the push-pull principle - the input DC voltage is chopped by two push-pull working transistors with a frequency of approximately 60kHz. With the help of a transformer and a secondary linear choke, a galvanically isolated output voltage (12V or 24V) is produced which is adjusted by pulse-width modulation according to the current mode principle. The series PCMD250W and PCMD400W are available with input voltages of 24VDC (16.8VDC to 36VDC), 80VDC (50VDC to 50VDC) or 110VDC (66VDC to 154VDC) and can be connected via screw connectors. The dimensions are 150mm x 86mm x 55mm. Due to this compact design, they are also suitable for applications where space is limited. The converters need no ground load, and are maintenance free and short-circuit protected by primary and secondary power limitation. They are vacuum potted and prepared for the use in devices with protection class. They are available for use in railway applications. Further features are a mechanically and electrically rugged design using SMD-technology and an automatic piece-by-piece test. Series HVC: high voltage convertersWith the new HVC high voltage converter series, it is possible to supply electronic equipment out of 600V / 750V contact wire. They are used for supplying points, signal lamps and electronic monitoring of the rail net. The specific feature of HVC is its use as a self-starting module for trams or trolley buses, for exhaustive discharged batteries so that the towing process can be avoided. The rugged design, together with high-quality components, guarantees the high reliability in vehicles, even under shock and vibration conditions. The high efficiency of 90% allows a performance of 150W up to 1,000W without forced ventilation. Moreover the converters work with an ambient temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
