Power-One manufactures a broad range of extremely robust electrical and mechanical designs for rugged railway power supply applications. Power-One has established a proven track record of industry-leading reliability, in a wide range of transportation, communications and industrial infrastructure applications.

Power-One's designs cover a broad range of industrial, communications, rugged and railway applications, with DC-DC converters, AC-DC power systems, DC-AC inverter modules, DIN-rail power supplies, board mounted, cassette style converters, 19in rack power supplies and customised assemblies, specific to each unique customer requirement.

Rugged rail power systems and supplies

Power-One rugged and rail power supply products have ultra-wide temperature ranges, accept wide input voltage ranges, offer multi-output voltages and are compliant with EN50155, EN50121, RIA12 and RIA13 railway standards. Power-One also provides high levels of isolation, protection from transients and surges, inrush current, superb EMC performance as well as high shock and vibration withstand capabilities.

All Power-One power supplies are designed against the most stringent of specifications and are produced to strict quality control requirements. These are low-maintenance, fit and forget devices and include conformal coating / varnishing as standard for high humidity applications.

Power supplies for railway signalling, ticket and display systems

Power-One has field-proven products, with a product history spanning over 30 years, for a diverse range of rolling-stock, locomotive, trackside and static power applications.

Applications include trackside and station and station-based projects for control, signalling, communication, ticket machines, CCTV and information displays as well as mobile applications for freight rolling stock, metro / underground, light rail and passenger railway networks.

Projects which currently utilise Power-One products include air conditioning, passenger information signs, cab radio, battery chargers, braking systems, Wi-Fi / passenger wireless, communications, fire detection and alarms, on-board computers and ballast control back-up.

DC DC converters are available with nominal inputs of 12VDC, 24VDC, 36VDC, 48VDC, 52VDC, 60VDC, 72VDC, 110VDC and 220VDC, as well as global AC inputs, to suit the requirements of different national standards.

Power-One's custom product capabilities range from low-wattage power solutions for onboard lighting and HVAC digital motor control, to train-wide 65kW auxiliary power converters.

Eurocassette power supplies

Power-One Eurocassette supplies (originally from Melcher) require no thermal derating. They are self-cooling for both conduction and convection applications, eliminating the need for forced air.

AC and DC (up to 10:1 ratio) input versions are available. Euro-cassette power converters are available in the 50W M series, 100W S and Q series, 150W P series, 250W K series, and 500W T-series. They can be rack or chassis mounted and wired in series or parallel to give higher power capabilities. A unique feature of the Euro-cassette power supplies is their ability to adjust the output voltage from 0% to 100%.

Power-One can offer standard power supplies which are compliant with IEC60571, EN50155, EN50121-3-2, BRB RIA12, RIA13, RIA18 and RIA20, as well as EN60950 and EN55022.

PCB and DIN-rail mounted power supplies

Power-One's PCB mounted products are available in both isolated and non-isolated versions, with power outputs up to 80W with no derating. Input ranges cover supplies from 8VDC to 144VDC with single and dual outputs in the IMX4, IMX7, IMX15 families and quad outputs in the IMX35 series. Output voltages are available from 3.3V to 60V. RoHS and SMT models are also available.

DC to AC power inverters and custom converters

Power-One inverters convert the readily available DC supply on a train to AC power for powering any items requiring 230VAC.

Power-One custom products include static converters for auxiliary power supplies, battery chargers, drivers for the control of HVAC systems amongst others. Custom products are available up to 65kW and will be compliant with EN50121, 50121-3-2, EN50153, EN50155, EN50311, EN55015, EN60081 and EN60901, and IEC571 and IEC1376.
