Grau Elektronik

Grau Elektronik - Voltage Converters and Battery Chargers at EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2

Grau Elektronik manufacture voltage converters and battery chargers. Our product spectrum contains DC/DC, AC/DC and DC/AC converters with an output power range from 1W to 10kW, as well as customised power solutions. We are a European leader in this market through our dead battery starter modules for railway applications. These units have an input voltage range of 700V to 5,075V, with output power capabilities of 75W to 600W.

We offer application-optimised standard power supplies as well as customised solutions. Our technical developments guarantee the highest customer satisfaction. Grau Elektronik engineers have a broad experience in power electronics, switch mode power supplies and converter technology. Detailed knowledge in the EMV sector ensures the quick realisation from the concept to production.

Power supplies at IEC 60571 and IEC 1287-1

The Karlsbad-Ittersbach facility houses development and electrical performance tests, sales and marketing. 20 experienced and motivated employees in development, CAD, construction and logistic departments provide solutions with a very reliable and attractive price to performance ratio.

We realise solutions for customised power supplies in the shortest time, with all accompanying tests (temperature, EMV and vibration / shock). Close cooperation with the client guarantees optimal solutions.

Grau Elektronik is certified to ISO 9001 quality standard.

Single and dual output DC/DC converters

The Series s SBB DC/DC converter (Vin: 13.5V to 154V; Vout: 5V, 15V, 24V, 36V, ±15V or В± 24V) is designed for 19in system and chassis mounting. Single output converters are available with 10ms hol-up time class S2 IEC 60571. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C at EN 50155. The output power is 60W or 100W.

The converters can be connected with an H15 connector, which can be switched on and off electronically by enable input signal. The output voltage is monitored to under and over voltage. The converters are continuously no-load and short-circuit proofed.

Series WBB: high-efficiency converters

The Series WBB high-efficiency converters have single outputs of 12V, 24V, 48V and 72V and a power outputs of 50W, 100W or 150W. The converters have a Vin of 14.4V to 154V (50W) 14.4V to 50.4V, 43.2V to 154V 100W.

The DC/DC converters are designed according to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2. All converters include an output current limiting stage and are no-load and short-circuit proofed. These converters demonstrate high efficiency; this means reduced thermal losses, and reduced parts stress with an excellent MTBF value.

The converters fulfil vibration and shock demands according to IEC 68-2-27. All inputs are protected against reverse polarity connection either by a parallel input diode together with a melting fuse or series transistor.
