Australian refuelling specialist Banlaw has made a concerted push into the North American market with the opening of its first US office in Nevada. The office is headed by new recruit Robbie Bent as vice president business development, North America.
Banlaw chief executive officer, Bill Clifton, said that the new US office will be a real benefit for existing clients and will also more effectively promote the benefits of Banlaw's integrated fuel management products to new clients.
Banlaw has already successfully installed its revolutionary FuelTrack™ system for one US client, Kennecott Utah Copper. It is currently installing FuelTrack in eight Barrick Gold mines in North America. The $6m project covers two mines in Canada and six in the US.
FuelTrack allows the precise monitoring, reconciliation and centralised reporting of any machine or vehicles' fuel use. The system is readily adaptable to track the use of all liquids including oil, gas, detergents and chemicals of vehicles, tanks, and distribution points.
"US companies are increasingly focused on managing costs like fuel and reducing carbon emissions," Mr Clifton said. "We think there will be very strong interest in our integrated products and systems."
