EKE-Electronics to Supply Train Communications Gateways to Ukraine Metro Train Project

04 May 2009

EKE-Electronics will supply train communication gateway solutions to a metro train project in Ukraine. EKE's Polish partner Medcom will be the system integrator for the project and the trains will be manufactured by Kryukovsky Vagonzavod in Ukraine.

EKE-Electronics' scope of supply includes EKE-Trainnet® gateways that manage data traffic in the train, including control and diagnostic data. The equipment racks that EKE will deliver consist of WTB and CAN communication modules and PowerPC-based central processing units. The EKE-Trainnet gateways are fully compliant with the IEC 61375-1 TCN standard and EN50155 norm for railway rolling stock.

Pekka Kuusela, CEO of EKE-Electronics, said: "We are pleased to extend our co-operation with Medcom, one of the leading electrical train system suppliers in central and eastern Europe. This is the first project for EKE-Electronics in Ukraine and thus opens a new market for our technology."
