EKE-Electronics - Eke-Trainnet Train Management Systems (TMS) and Event Recorders

EKE-Electronics designs and manufactures train control and management systems and train communication networks. EKE-Trainnet® systems are intelligent computer systems that control, monitor, diagnose and record train operation: from doors, HVAC and lights to passenger information displays and all other subsystems. Due to a high integration level, EKE system can reduce the system cost by 50%.

All EKE equipment and systems are strictly compliant with the EN50155 norm. EKE-Trainnet® TCN (WTB/MVB/CAN) gateways are industry icons known for their reliability and easy configuration. The new generation of EKE-Trainnet data networks is based on 100Mb/s or 1Gb/s Ethernet backbone, IP protocols and EN50155-compliant Ethernet switching units with Power-over-Ethernet.

Modular train control and management system

The modules of the on-board TCMS include:

• Coach computer in each car
• Event recorder, i.e. train blackbox
• Train/coach network (WTB, MVB, CAN, Ethernet, RS232/422/485)
• Digital and analogue I/O modules controlling and monitoring the subsystems
• Online connection to the depot, i.e. train-to-wayside communication (WLAN, GPRS, GSM, 3G)
• User interfaces for train driver and crew - displays, touch-screen panels

Optionally available are:

• Passenger information screens
• Video surveillance system components (CCTV)
• Infotainment screens
• Public announcement systems (PIS)

Train control and diagnostics as refurbishment or for new trains

The EKE TMS saves costs and improves operation, whether fitted in new or existing trains. The system can control the doors, heating, ventilation, braking, lighting, tilting and speed, as well as keeping track of emissions, energy and fuel consumption.

The operation of EKE-Electronics complies with ISO 9001:2001 and ISO 14001:2004. The EKE TMS fully complies with the IEC, EN and UIC standards (e.g. IEC 61375-1, EN 50155, UIC 556).

EKE-Trainnet event recorder - blackbox for trains

The EKE-Trainnet event recorder is the smallest and safest train blackbox in the market. It complies with all the principal rolling stock standards (e.g. EEIG 97E461, IEEE 1482, GM/RT2472) and fits in a standard 19in rack.

With a fire-proof and crash-proof rugged memory module, the event recorder records signals like speed, location, brake activation, sound and video for later analysis. The EKE train inspection program (TIP) provides various options for examining this data.

For projects where rugged memory module is not required, EKE has a CPU-based, cost-efficient solution available.
