RJ45-Quickon – Industrial Plug Connectors with Fast Connection System

16 October 2007

The VARIOSUB RJ45-Quickon from Phoenix Contact is the world's first RJ 45 plug connector for tool-free assembly in accordance with Cat 5e with eight positions. In compliance with standards, the VARIOSUB RJ45-Quickon is suitable for all industrial Ethernet transmission, Ethernet-based fieldbuses, such as PROFINET and Ethernet/IP, as well as the classic office applications, and on to Gigabit Ethernet. No special tools necessary for assembly with insulation displacement - the wires are simply positioned in the chambers to match the pairing and are pressed into the cutters with the cover cap.

The plug connector is pre-assembled, making positioning and possible loss of small parts a thing of the past. Assembly on-site under difficult conditions is a simple matter. The plug connector is shielded against high electromagnetic influences and can accommodate wires from AWG 26 to AWG 22, solid or stranded. With a maximum conductor diameter of 8mm and the extra cable screw connection, they are ideally suited for rugged Ethernet cables in an industrial environment. Due to its sturdy design, the RJ45-Quickon is harmonica jack capable. It is thus possible to connect several plug connectors to multiple position sockets, beside and above each other. Color coding rings are available in eight different colors as accessories.

Features include:

  • IP20 protection
  • Eight-position fast connection technology
  • Transmission properties in acc. with CAT5 (IEC 11801:2002 / EN 50173:2002)
  • Shielded for one- and seven-wire conductors AWG 26-22
  • Shielded for cable diameters of 4.5 to 8.0mm
  • Sturdy strain relief
  • Harmonica-jack capable
