Swasap manufactures and supplies railway axles for railway administrations, rolling stock builders and refurbishment workshops worldwide. The company has over 50 years of manufacturing experience. Swasap axles conform to every recognized international quality standard.

High-quality rail axles

Swasap axles are monitored at every stage of manufacture and inspection procedures are carried out at every key stage of operation.

A comprehensively equipped laboratory undertakes testing by ultrasonic, chemical analysis, metallographic and mechanical means. A separate metrology laboratory is maintained for calibration of measuring equipment.

Quality equipment includes:

Axle and wheel CAD/CAM system, gauges, CNC machines and measuring equipment

Over €2 million of investment in new machinery and equipment since 2007 has resulted in Swasap's factory becoming one of the most modern axle producers in the world. A modern CAD/CAM system and new gauges, CNC machines and measuring equipment are amongst the manufacturing equipment we have available.

GFM forge

Our GFM forge is an accepted standard for axle manufacture and is used for forging axles, shafts and round bars. It is CNC controlled and is complemented by specialist heat treatment furnaces.

A well-established customer base, developed over many years, is testimony to Swasap's quality products and excellent customer service. Swasap has a long and successful history of supplying international markets and deliveries can be made to anywhere in the world. In keeping with the company's high standards, axles can be individually packed, boxed in batches, break bulk shipped or delivered in full container loads – according to customer requirements

Certified railway axles

Swasap has ISO 900 1, AAR M1001 and GMRT 2470 certification. Axles are manufactured to all major railway standards, including CME-1, UIC 811-1, JIS-E-4502, BS-5892 Part-1, AAR-M101, EN13261 and GMRT 2466.
