Over the last 60 years, RAFAMET has developed a broad range of machining tools, including special-purpose wheel lathes for railways, heavy-duty single and double-column vertical turning and boring mills, large bridge-type milling machines, horizontal lathes, special machines and modular machining centres. The company is ISO 9001:2000 certified. CNC portal wheel lathesThe UDA125N is designed for machining the wheelset wheels used in rail vehicles. Maximum wheelset tread diameter is 1,250mm and the maximum length of wheelset axle is 2,350mm. The machine is adapted for operation in roll-through systems as well as roll-on, roll-off systems. CNC surface wheel lathesRAFAMET surface wheel lathes are able to execute the following operations:
The UBF112N, intended for machining wagon wheelsets of tread diameters up to 1,120mm, is provided with a main drive consisting of two 28kW AC infinitely variable rotation-motors, operating in a master slave system. The UBE150N is intended for locomotive wheelsets of tread diameters up to 1,250mm. The lathes are adapted to roll in and roll out the wheelset on the same side. CNC wheel lathe with friction roller driveThe UFB125N wheel lathe with friction roller drive is designed to machine new or used rail vehicle wheelsets. The machine is able to execute operation: turning of wheels profiles according to a technological programme, facing of brake-disc friction surfaces and turning of wheel centres and wheelset axles. The design of the UFB125N enables it to machine a full range of wheel rims as well as wheelset axles. CNC double-saddle underfloor wheel lathesThe machines are set below the rails. Permanent and retractable rails, which connect with the floor rails to form a track, allow the vehicle to travel over the machines. Their basic body element consists of two cast-iron columns mounted on common plate. The crossrail, provided with horizontal hardened and ground guideways, is fixed to the columns. The saddles, equipped with the measuring heads and toolholders, are fixed on the crossrail. The machines can be provided with many optional elements and devices, including vehicle shunting / winching arrangement, dust extraction and swarf evacuation systems. The UGL80N is designed for machining the wheelsets of subway and light railway vehicles and wagons of axle loads up to 10t. The UGD150N is intended for machining the wheel profiles of light-rail vehicle wheelsets of axle loads up to 15t. The UGE150N is designed to machine the profiles of the wheelset wheels of heavy rail vehicles of axle loads up to 30t. CNC vertical turning latheThe KCM series of CNC vertical turning lathes (VTL) is designed to execute operations such as rough and finish turning, and boring of holes, on both solid railway wheels and tyres, according to a technological programme. These VTLs are equipped with turning railhead cooperating directly with a 5-way tool magazine. A turning / milling railhead and a 24-way tool magazine can also be provided to enlarge the capabilities of the machine. CNC wheel borerThe WB90CNC wheel borer is specifically designed for boring, turning and facing operations on railway rolling-stock wheels. It may be configured with number of options and accessories, including an automatic electronically adjusting boring bar for hub boring, a tool slide in the boring beam for hub turning and facing, and a second slide for rim-facing operations. Gantry milling centreThe GMC-320 CNCis a gantry milling centre for machining railway bogies.
