KOLTECH - Wheel Lathes and Wheelset Measurement and Monitoring Equipment

KOLTECH designs and manufactures machines and devices for city rail transport and railways such as under-floor and above-floor wheel lathes, used for the reconditioning of wheel profiles of rail vehicles, and measurement and monitoring devices for wheel-set parameters. TUP650 / H /SH under-floor wheel lathes

TUP650, TUP650H and TUP 650SH under-floor wheel lathes are designed for reconditioning of wheel profiles of all ranges of rail vehicles. The machining process can be carried out without dismantling wheel-sets from the vehicle.

TUP650 under-floor wheel lathes are designed for light-rail vehicles like trams where axle load does not exceed 10,000daN, whereas TUP650H is for traction units of subways where axle load does not exceed 17,000daN and TUP650SH is for railway applications where axle load does not exceed 30,000daN.

The TUP lathes are also able to machine individual wheel-sets and bogies dismantled from vehicles, as well as coupled wheel-sets, active surfaces of brake discs and wheel-sets of vehicles, which do not have bogies.

The models TUP 650 / H / SH, taking into account different rail vehicles and bogie design, can be adapted for three kinds of cantering:

• In centres (in case of access to centre holes of axle) and / or inner axle box supports - TUP 650
• In outer and / or inner axle box supports - TUP 650H
• In outer axle box supports - TUP 650SH

TUU 800 / 1250 above-floor wheel lathes

TUU800 and TUU1250 above-floor wheel lathes are designed for turning of wheel profiles of rail vehicle wheel-sets and wheel centres, in particular:

• Reconditioning of wheel profiles of used wheel-sets
• Turning of wheel profiles of new wheel-sets
• Exposing of the ring, securing the wheel-set wheel tyre
• Facing of inner and outer faces of wheel tyres
• Facing of active surface of brake discs, mounted on the wheel-set by means of optional equipment

The wheel-set during the machining is positioned in centres, and the torque, needed for cutting, is transmitted frictionally onto the rollers, driven by hydraulic motors. Each wheel is driven by three rollers, pressed against the wheel tread on the circumference of the wheel. To obtain the proper torque for machining, the rollers are pressed to the tread by hydraulic cylinders. Each driving roller and hydraulic motor is mounted on a separate lever, pressed by the hydraulic cylinder by means of a spring, compensating for the sudden changes of wheel shape.

In standard execution, the machine is equipped with two saddles, provided with horizontal slides for turning of profile and wheel centres. Optionally, the saddles can be equipped with additional slides for turning of brake discs, mounted on the axle. Device for dynamic measurement of wheel-set parameters

PZK - flange and wheel diameters monitor

PZK is a device designed for automatic, contactless measurement and monitoring of flange height, width, thickness and wheel diameters of wheel-sets of rail vehicles. Additionally, by means of that device, measurement is carried out of distance of inner faces as well as attacking points of wheels, located on the same axle.

This device installed on the rail track, e.g. in tramway depots, enables measurements in motion - at approaching speeds of up to 10km/h from one direction of travel.

WM50, WM150, WM300 and WM500 rail shunters

Our WM50, WM150, WM300 and WM500 rail shunters shunt rail vehicles on rail tracks where travel performed by a vehicle's own drive, or its precise positioning in a desired place, is not possible.

The system of four wheels enables travel along the rails in both directions (forwards and backwards) with adjustable shunting speed. The shunters are provided with their own drive, transmitted from two AC motors with infinitely variable speeds, through two planetary gears, each one servicing one axle.

PZD - overlapping machines for rail wheel-sets

The overlapping machine PZD is a special-purpose device, designed for overlapping of safety rings in wheel-set tyres. It can be used by the repair workshops of railway rolling stock or other workshops for current maintenance of rail vehicles.

It refers to standard and driven wheel-sets (with gearboxes on the axle). The machine enables the overlapping of rings of wheels of various diameters and tyre widths in wide range of speeds and overlapping forces.
