[Series 241] Two cameramen, L. Konovalov and Y. Elkhov, were featured in an Italian film about the Moon.

Four years ago, an English version of the film American Moon (American Moon, 2017) appeared on Youtube. The film was made by Italian filmmaker Massimo Mazzucco (Massimo Mazzucco). During the 3.5 hours that the documentary lasts, numerous proofs of the falsification of the moon landing are presented.

Many of the topics covered in the film are familiar to you. These are radiation during the flight, the absence of a crater under the lunar module, clean landing legs (as if the cleaning lady had cleaned them before filming), invisible flames of the take-off module, no radio signal delay when talking to the Moon, the flag swaying in the wind, non-parallel shadows and much more.

When the film talks about shooting "lunar shots" against the sun - where in the photos the astronaut descends the ladder and is too brightly lit, Massimo Mazzuccio inserted footage of the experience, which was conducted by cinematographers Y. Elkhov and L. Konovalov in Russia. I will tell you in connection with what we appeared in the Italian film.

In the 104th episode of MythBusters (MythBusters, 2008, season 6) the presenters Adam and Jamie tried to prove by reproducing a photo with mock-ups that with one light source an astronaut can be as brightly lit as in the NASA photo:

• - You can see the astronaut perfectly, even though he is in the shadow of the lunar module. On the Moon, the only light source is the Sun. Theorists say there must be a second light source there that makes the astronaut clearly visible.

The author of the documentary film American Moon (American Moon, 2017) invited many famous Italian photographers (whose professionalism is beyond doubt - they have shot for many famous companies) to examine the NASA photos and showed them an album of images from the Moon.

Here is how bigphils describes these moments:

• It was noticeable that the masters had not seen these pictures before. They were genuinely surprised to learn that it was taken with a single light source, the Sun. They cannot explain the photo anomalies. Although they are uncomfortable and one even says he doesn't want to get into the "fake flights or not" topic, they all come to the same conclusion:

"It's impossible to capture this with a single light source. It looks more like a crew with professional photography equipment travelled to the moon. The photos are unequivocally fake."

And here the director of the film Massimo Mazzuccio recalled the experiment that cameraman Yuri Elkhov together with Leonid Konovalov conducted in the pavilion.

Let me remind you of its essence. Like the "mythbusters", taking as a basis a NASA photograph and a model of a lunar module with an astronaut's doll, Leonid Konovalov and Yuri Elkhov reproduced the NASA photograph.

They covered the room with black velvet. And illuminated the model with a single source of light.



And the astronaut at the ladder sank into the shadows. It was only when there was additional illumination from the camera from the white jacket that the astronaut became clearly visible

Apparently the "mythbusters" when they decided to reproduce the NASA photo on a mock-up didn't work out well at first. Here's a picture of an astronaut standing by the left support, but you can barely see him - he's completely drowned in shadow.



They worked so hard filming and reshooting the incomplete moments that Adam changed 4 shirts during the course of this short story.


And then the "destroyers" went for a trick: they switched on additional lights (fluorescent lamps) under the ceiling, put Jamie in a white shirt next to the mock-up and put Adam's bare arms in the spotlight. Only then did the astronaut come into view.






We've already wondered about the purity of doing such an experiment.

Now, why do you think one of the actors is wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt all the time? Why didn't he completely hide in the shade at the moment of photographing? Why does the other actor have a white shirt? And why is the white shirt illuminated not only from the front by a spotlight, but strangely appeared to be lit from all sides? Why outside the black screen at the top of the frame we can see that there are some doors in the room, a red staircase and they are somehow illuminated with light not at all from the spotlight.
Perhaps our arguments were heard abroad, as this fraud was also pointed out in the Italian film.


And further in the film they commented on our experiment with Y. Elkhov.

The same experiment, reproduced by two Russian photographers, shows how important it is to have white clothes reflecting light on an astronaut.

The authors of the Italian documentary film come to the following conclusion.

• Thus the "destroyers of legends" have again proved the exact opposite of what they set out to prove - that without additional lighting, it is impossible to balance the area in shadow with the area directly hit by the light source.

I have written two articles about how the "mythbusters" deceived the viewer by reproducing NASA photography.

In "American Moon" Massimo Mazzuccio shows that modern filmmakers, making films about the American conquest of the Moon, have to use large white reflectors, several square metres in size, to reproduce the light pattern that was in the NASA photographs.



Without this additional illumination, the astronaut in the shadows cannot be highlighted. The only conclusion from the Italian film is that the NASA photos were taken in a pavilion with additional powerful illumination. The area of the reflectors was several tens of square metres. The spacesuit of the second astronaut, who was next to the camera, could not in any way illuminate such a gigantic area in the shadows.

One of our 2012 experiments was seen by foreign filmmakers. But the 2016 TV film "The Big Space Lie of the United States", where we reproduced the front-projection technology (with the help of which on the "American moon" appeared mountains in the background), apparently, they have not yet seen, or they would certainly quote some frame.
