Simis® W, the fail-safe microcomputer system from Siemens for the world market, is a refinement of the well-proven Simis C electronic interlocking and represents the latest generation of electronic interlockings from Division Mobility.
The principle of operation of Simis W enables interlocking systems to be created from individual, clearly organised elements. It is therefore possible to implement many types of interlockings, from small ones with a few controlled elements to very large interlockings with up to 1,000 controlled elements.
All computers which process information relating to signalling safety are designed on the basis of the tried-and-tested Simis principle, which is used in the 2-out-of-3 configuration for Simis W.
