ACS Wins New York Subway Contract

Spain's Actividades de ConstrucciГіn y Servicios has won a $447m contract to build the 72nd street station for the proposed 2nd Avenue Subway line in Manhattan, New York, US.

The station's main cavern is 322m long, 22m wide and over 30m below ground level.

The company will deliver the contract to New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority through its subsidiaries Dragados and Schiavone.

Construction will last 37 months and will involve maintenance and traffic control, monitoring of existing buildings and structures, and the protection and relocation of services affected by the works.
