UK Reveals Electrostar Trains

19 October 2010

UK transport group National Express has unveiled the first of its 30 379 Electrostar trains at Bombardier Transportation UK's Derby factory.

The trains will undergo tests in the Czech Republic prior to returning to the UK in January for further testing.

The first trains will be introduced on the Stansted Express service by 2011, with some operating on the Cambridge to Liverpool Street route.

Each four-coach train will have 20 first-class and 189 standard-class seats, CCTV systems, a Wi-Fi network and enhanced train management systems.
