Toronto Unveils Red Rocket Subway Cars

19 October 2010

The Toronto Transit Commission has unveiled its Red Rocket subway trains in Ontario, Canada.

In 2006 the Toronto City Council entered into a $710m contract with Bombardier to replace its ageing fleet of 200 subway cars.

The council has ordered 234 subway cars to make 39 trains and will receive within two years.

The trains were supposed to arrive early this year, but will start passenger services in 2011, with the first trains running on the Yonge-University-Spadina line, according to torontosun.com.
