China-Laos Railway Work to Begin This Month

Construction work on a 530km railway line between Yunnan Province in south-west China and Laos in South East Asia will begin on 28 October 2010.

The rail line, to be complete by 2015, will connect Mohan Port in the Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna to Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

The railway will become part of the Trans-Asian railway network, which will cover 114,000km and run through 28 countries in Asia, according to chinadaily.com.cn.
