Eurostar Could Select Siemens for High-Speed Trains

06 October 2010

Siemens is expected to secure a contract worth €600m ($820.6m) to supply Eurostar with a batch of high-speed trains.

Eurostar is poised to order ten Siemens Velaro-D trains, which will run between the Netherlands and Germany.

Siemens was selected as the preferred bidder in June for the contract.

Eurostar will become the first affiliate company of SNCF to order Siemens trains over AGV trains, supplied by Alstom.
