India Allocates Funding for Rail Network

The Indian Government has allocated INR170,000m ($3.84bn) to develop a rail network connecting eight cities in the north-east of the country by 2016.

Only Assam and some parts of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh have rail connectivity, while other states have a minimal rail network.
