Cisco Unveils Rail Communication Technology

29 September 2010

Cisco has launched a secure station service platform at the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology 2010 trade show in Berlin, Germany.

The device provides station operators with a reliable way to safeguard levels of security and deliver enhanced information to passengers.

It also ensures availability of help points and passenger information services, advanced video surveillance and analytics, even if the station is offline.

The new solution uses the company's application extension platform technology, which reduces the number of separate devices in the station equipment room.

It also provides benefits such as improved passenger information, greater in-station security, lower risk of interruptions in critical services, clearer public announcements and reporting compliance among others.
