US State Invites Bids for High-Speed Rail

The US state of Wisconsin is inviting bids for the construction work of a high-speed rail line.

The contract includes earthwork, bridge and road construction, and track improvements in the city of Waterloo, Jefferson County.

The work is part of the $810m Milwaukee-to-Madison rail project, which is scheduled to be operational by 2013, according to bizjournals.com.

The state will accept bids until 28 September.

Construction will begin in October and will be completed by 3 September 2011.
