US City Council Agrees Study for Aerial High-Speed Rail Track

17 September 2010

California's San Jose City Council has agreed to study an aerial track for high-speed rail trains.

However, any commitment of an aerial track requires an agreement from the California High-Speed Rail Authority, giving the city the right to consider any design for an aerial alignment through Diridon Station.

The agreement will also ensure that the city is given sufficient input on the possible design and noise impacts of constructing part of the high-speed rail corridor along Monterey Road from Pacheco Pass at grade.
