Alstom Signs Rail Contract with Chinese Companies

16 September 2010

Alstom has signed a rail contract with China's CNR Corporation and Shanghai Electric Group to form a strategic partnership to develop new markets for mass transit products.

Under the contract, Alstom will work with the companies to enhance their existing joint ventures, Shanghai Alstom Transport and Shanghai Alstom Transport Electrical Equipment.

The collaboration will allow the parties to enhance the development of rolling stock solutions and railway traction systems for mass transit projects.

The partnership also aims to give the joint ventures the ability to design, build and commercialise urban transit products for the domestic and international export markets.
