The US Government has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan rail operator Kazakhstan Temir Zholy for the planned reconstruction of railway sections in the nation.
Under the agreement, the US will provide funds and technologies for a feasibility study on the introduction of new rail technology.
The study will consider railway signalisation and the system management of trains running on three major freight-loaded transit sections of Kazakhstan's railways.
Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is a state railway company which owns and uses the main line railway network and the national transportation company.
