Alcan to Supply Power Rail System for Indian Metro Project

Alcan Extrusions and Automotive Structures has received a contract to supply 100km of aluminium power rail for a metro project in the Indian city of Bangalore.

The proposed project will feature two rail lines built on stilts.

The DC-powered railway system is expected to reduce greenhouse gases and relieve traffic congestion.

Under the contract, Alcan will provide an engineering and service package through the Railtech-Alu-Singen joint venture.

Alcan Extrusions and Automotive Structures is a part of Alcan Engineered Products.
